Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior 1960s Bottling

A 1960s era vintage of Bacardi Carta Blanca Superior distilled at their Santiago de Cuba distilleries. The brand was founded in 1862 by Facundo Bacardi Masso, a Catalonian merchant who opened two distilleries to create both a light and heavy style of rum. His blended rum was a huge hit and allowed Facundo to purchase more and more distilleries, expanding further into Mexico and Puerto Rico. The Bacardi family held the firm until the company was seized by Fidel Castro in 1959 amid the Cuban Revolution. As the nation began nationalising industry, Bacardi moved its headquarters and continued production in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Spain, Canada and Mexico.
