El Viejito Extra Anejo

An extra anejo expression of Tequila from El Viejito produced at their distillery NOM 1107 in Jalisco. Located in the highlands of Jalisco this tequila is crafted from high elevation agave that is then roasted in brick ovens and crushed using a roller mill. The juice is then fermented in closed stainless steel tanks then pitched with their own cultured yeast. Distilled twice in a stainless steel and copper hybrid still before being filled into used American whiskey barrels. This extra anejo is left to mature for three years in these previously used whiskey barrels, before being dumped and bottled at 41% Abv. The El Viejito label is the house brand for the distillery, but their tequila is also the source of other brands including: Distinqt, Campeon, Luna Nueva, Karma, Los Cinco, Mi Viejo and Peligroso..
