Change your list price in seconds. Listings are now asks.
Buying and selling shouldn't work like a garage sale, it should work like a true open market. So we're building BAXUS to operate like one.

- Buying and selling shouldn't work like a garage sale, it should work like a true open market.
- So we're building BAXUS to operate like one.
- Changing the price on a bottle you had for sale used to mean taking it off the marketplace and putting it back up at a new number.
- You told us that was the most frustrating part of selling on BAXUS, and you were right.
Changing the price on a bottle you had for sale used to mean taking it off the marketplace and putting it back up at a new number. You told us that was the most frustrating part of selling on BAXUS, and you were right.
So we rebuilt it. There's now one action, Update Ask. Open the actions menu on any bottle you have for sale, set your new number, and it's live. The bottle never leaves the marketplace and its price history stays intact.
When the marketplace moves, your prices should too
Say you have half a dozen bottles up for sale. A limited release lands, the secondary market runs, and by Friday your asks are well behind what those bottles are actually trading for.
Under the old system, moving those prices meant twelve separate actions. Six bottles off the marketplace, six back up at the new number, each one a fresh form and a fresh chance to mistype a price.
Whiskey doesn't sit still. Prices move on release news, on auction results, on a bottle turning up in someone's tasting video. If the marketplace can move that fast, changing your price should take seconds.
Repricing was the most common piece of feedback we got from sellers, so it went to the top of the list.
What changed
- One click to reprice. Update Ask sits on the bottle page, in your dashboard, and on every card in your collection. Same menu, same place, every time.
- Listings are now Asks. Your asking price is your Ask. "List for sale" is still what you do to put a bottle up, but once it's up, it's an Ask.
- A rebuilt Collection page. New cards, a cleaner header, and actions that open where you are instead of sending you to another page.
- Filter by status. All, For Sale, Unlisted, Redeemed. Pull up everything you have on the marketplace and scan your prices in one screen.
- One actions menu, everywhere. Set Ask, Update Ask, Cancel Ask and Redeem all sit behind the same three dots on every bottle you own.
Why you'll see the word "Ask"
This was more than a find and replace. "Listing" is e-commerce language. It belongs to a world where a seller posts an item, a buyer clicks buy, and the price is whatever the seller decided on the day they posted it. That works for a coffee table. It's a poor fit for a bottle with a live secondary market and a price that moves every week.
Every real marketplace, from equities to sneakers, uses the same two words. The seller's price is an Ask. The buyer's price is a Bid. The gap between them is where price discovery happens.
Spirits have never really had that, which is why so many people still can't tell whether the bottle in front of them is a steal or a stitch-up. If BAXUS is going to be where the real price of a bottle gets set, the product needs to speak the language that job requires. So the change runs the whole way through the app: price labels, action menus, dashboards, filters, notifications and emails.
How it works
- Find the bottle. Your collection, your dashboard, or the bottle's own page. All three work the same way.
- Open the actions menu. The three dots on the card, or the action menu on the price panel. Hover over a card in your collection and the button comes to you.
- Set your new Ask. The panel opens pre-filled with your current price, so you're changing a number rather than filling out a form. Confirm and it's live, on screen straight away.
If you've listed a bottle on BAXUS before, you already know how to do this. It's the same panel you've always used, pre-filled and reachable from anywhere.
Nothing on your side needs to change
The first thing sellers asked us was whether they had to redo anything. You don't. Every bottle you had for sale carried over automatically and is still on the marketplace at the same price you set. No relisting, no confirming, no new step to learn. If you had trouble editing or canceling a bottle in the first days after the switch, that's resolved.
Same bottles, same marketplace, better tools.
What else landed
A few other things shipped in the same release. Asks now update in real time, so when you place, change or cancel one, the screen reflects it immediately. Rapid repeat taps no longer duplicate an action, failed operations tell you what actually went wrong, and the marketplace's Featured sort works properly again.
Two things people have asked for didn't make this release. Bulk repricing, where you move a whole set of Asks at once, is on the roadmap. Listing from the mobile app is still coming, so setting and changing Asks is a web flow for now.
This is step one
Asks on their own are a better seller experience. Asks plus Bids are a marketplace.
That's where this is going. Bids come next, then counter-offers, then real price discovery for bottles, where you can see not just what someone is asking but what people are willing to pay.
Changing the words was the easy part. Building the marketplace those words describe is the work, and that's what the next few releases are.
And keep the feedback coming. This release exists because sellers kept telling us the same thing until we fixed it, which is how most of the good stuff here gets made. Tell us what's still slowing you down at info@baxus.co.
